A FLOWER METAPHOR
Turning your idea into reality
How to turn your SPARK of an IDEA into reality. For me, it’s about planting the seed and nurturing it to blossom.
Let’s drill down on this flower metaphor (bear with me, it’s usually a food metaphor!) A seed, like an idea, is so tiny that no one gives it a second thought. It’s hard to think that this tiny seed could grow into a flower or a zuchini for pasta (food metaphor!). If you ignore the seed, it will wither and die. If you nurture the seed, it will grow into something beautiful. Think about showing this tiny seed to someone who has no idea what it is or what value it has. They won’t understand it. They won’t visualize it. They won’t realize it’s importance. That’s why when we talk about our seed of an idea, we do so with the nutrients of our passion, mission, and vision.
THE FLOWER METAPHOR
🌱 The Seed – The idea - small, very fragile, and holding on for dear life to grow.
🌞 The Sunlight – The passion point. When you add your passion and bring your seed some light, it will start to grow.
🌱 The Soil – Your Vision: Without the right soil, your seed may abruptly stop growing. But with your vision, your soil will be fertile provding a healthy foundation for your idea.
🌳 The Roots – Your mission: Grounded and sturdy, the roots of your idea will sprout with the strong mission that you have surrounding your idea.
💧 The Rain – The understanding of your audience: Watering your seed is food for it to grow. So is understanding your target audience. Without the specfic understanding your idea won’t get the nutrients it needs.
🌿 The Stem – Your unique voice: As your flower grows, the stem will provide support. That support is your own unqiue voice, twist, and innovative point of view.
🌻 The Flower + Petals – The flower will sprout with all the signature elements that make it beautiful.
